Teamed was founded on a simple belief: the people who understand both learning and technology are the ones redesigning how learning happens — and they deserve a platform built specifically for them. Not a generic job board. Not a staffing agency that treats L&D like any other hire.

What began as a marketplace became a recruitment company, and is now a career intelligence platform. The goal throughout has been the same — accelerate the work of the people improving how the world learns.

Teamed founded
Launched as a two-sided marketplace connecting L&D professionals with organizations that need them, out of Warrenton, VA.
2018
Pivot to staffing & recruitment
Expanded into contractor staffing, employee recruitment, and Employer of Record services to better serve hiring organizations.
2019
Job board launched
Opened the first L&D-specific job board to serve the broader professional community beyond direct placements.
2020
Supporting the field through the pandemic
Supported an enormous number of job seekers and organizations navigating one of the most disruptive periods in the L&D industry.
2024
Refocus on the two-sided platform
Recruitment can't connect everyone — so we turned back to the marketplace, rolling out self-service features for both sides: scheduling, badging, and profile building.

Career Board added
Launched the Career Board — a curated directory of courses, certifications, and events matched to candidate skill gaps and career goals.

AI matching launched — more capabilities in development

Ashley saw early that technology wasn't just a tool for delivering learning — it was a means of redesigning how learning happens entirely. That conviction drove every pivot of her career across education, government contracting, and corporate L&D, ultimately leading to directing learning experience design and technology at Strategic Education Inc.

She founded Teamed to pursue that mission beyond a single organization. Today she works closely with clients on their real hiring challenges — what skills to prioritize, how to blend employees with contractors, and how to build teams that scale. She holds an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design and Technology.
